International Hockey Federation

The FIH Hockey World League is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The competition, which is held over two years, also serves as the qualifier for the Hockey World Cup (men and women's) and the Olympic Games.

As the international governing body for hockey, we are responsible for the rules of Outdoor Hockey, Indoor Hockey and Hockey5s. Below you can download the rules for each format of the game and even order your own rulebook.

An invitation-only trial held at the beginning of January serves as the only selection opportunity to the U.S. Women's National Team and features past and present collegiate all-stars and members of the current National Squad, Junior National Squad and Transitional Athletes competing for the opportunity to represent the red, white and blue on the international stage. The U.S. Women's National Team represents the top athletes in the United States who represent the U.S. at all major international competitions during non-Olympic years.
