CYNTHIA MURPHY |
Real life Mom. Real life worrier. Real life warrior. Real life yogi. And recently real life kick boxer. It has been more than 20 years since I began my career as a performer. When I graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, I moved to NYC with a small chunk of money and hopes that it wouldn’t run out. I spent several years touring until I booked my first Broadway show which was Footloose, the Musical. During that run I was invited to do a reading of Urinetown, the Musical. That led to my first Tony nomination when it astoundingly and deservedly moved to Broadway in the Fall of 2001. When you believe in a project, you stick with it, and I was glad I did. I was lucky enough to be a part of several concerts at City Center, l played a murderer on television, and then I was cast in Wicked.
