Superman is an arcade Beat 'em up/Shoot 'em up released by Taito Corporation in 1988, the same year that the animated Superman was shown on television. Released in 1988 for the X System, The player assume the role of Superman, who must fight through five levels to make the world safe from the evil Emperor Zaas. The second player's Superman Red is identical to the first player's blue Superman, except in appearance. However, the red Superman's presence is never explained in the game
